Interpretação e desempenho em modelos preditivos da resistência do concreto

Resumo

A modelagem preditiva da resistência do concreto apresenta como questão fundamental o equilíbrio entre a precisão obtida por modelos não lineares de maior complexidade e a transparência proporcionada por abordagens lineares. Este estudo investiga esta problemática mediante a análise de um banco de dados contendo 1.030 misturas. Inicialmente, aplicou-se a análise de componentes principais para extrair fatores latentes interpretáveis. Posteriormente, três modelos foram construídos e comparados: (1) regressão por componentes principais utilizando cinco componentes que capturam 87,3% da variância, (2) regressão linear múltipla com variáveis originais, e (3) modelo não-linear Random Forest. Os resultados demonstram que o modelo Random Forest atinge a maior precisão (R² = 0,88, RMSE = 5,52 MPa), quantificando a relevância das interações não-lineares. O modelo de regressão por componentes principais (R² = 0,48, RMSE = 11,58 MPa), embora menos preciso, proporciona compreensões sobre a estrutura dos dados, redução dimensional significativa e mitiga a multicolinearidade presente no modelo de regressão linear múltipla (R² = 0,63, RMSE = 9,80 MPa). Os resultados indicam a necessidade de incorporar técnicas de interpretabilidade para aprofundar a compreensão das variáveis determinantes na resistência do concreto.

Bacharel em Física pela Universidade de São Paulo (1994), Mestre (1997), Doutora (2001) e Pós-Doutora (2004) em Ciências. Realizou estágio durante o seu doutoramento na Friedrich-Schiller Universität de Jena, Alemanha. Em 2005 ingressou no Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), sendo atualmente professora titular da instituição. Ocupou diversos cargos de coordenação e de diretoria. É consultora ad hoc de diversas agências de fomento e realiza arbitragem para diversos periódicos científicos internacionais indexados. Líder no Grupo de Materiais Semicondutores e Nanotecnologia do ITA (GMSN - www.gmsn.ita.br). Possui 87 artigos científicos publicados em periódicos internacionais e mais de 3300 citações.
